The Perfect Sofa….

…well, maybe perfect is a slight exaggeration, but I’m happy with it.

OK, it looks like we have a two-toned sofa but it’s just the directional aspect of microfiber. We ended up going with the LIlly Sofa from Raymour & Flanigan. We were looking for grey. We were looking for a material that would not hold onto our dog’s hair. We were looking for a two cushion sofa with modern, clean lines.  This sofa had all that and it was on super sale and made in the USA, to boot- sold!

The two pillows also came with the couch. They will be covered as soon as I get my sewing table set up in the basement. For the first time I actually agreed with my mother-in-law when she said “they’re so ugly.” I’ll cover them with this floral/scroll ikat fabric I found in a little shop in NYC last year- it was a remnant piece. You can’t see from this picture but there are little bits of grey in this fabric. Perfecto.

Since my husband has always wanted a sectional but we hardly have the space for it, we also got the ottoman that we use as extra seating.

I wish I could say my husband is equally excited about the sofa but he just can’t get comfortable on it. I think it has to do with the fabric. It’s so soft it’s almost slippery so he feels like he’s slipping off the sofa. Our old sofa was so broken in that is was super-comfy and that is hard to replicate in a new sofa. Oh and I’m happy to report that the big (over-sized!) purple sofa has found a new home in Maine- with one of my BFFs!
